Unsung Heroes, Women of World War Two collectable. We showcase the four miniature sheet stamp which pay tribute to the Spitfire Women. A vital part of the war effort, these women were tasked with ferrying aircraft to RAF bases across the UK. The Spitfire Women were trained to fly a wide range of aircraft, and they were responsible for delivering these planes to wherever they were needed. This included taking Spitfires straight from the factories to RAF bases. First day cover includes Maidenhead postmark 05.05.2022, the day the stamps were released, Maidenhead is where the Air Transport Auxiliary museum is based.
