Step back into the birthplace of the railway age to celebrate 250 years of the Stockton & Darlington Railway – the line that changed the world with this miniature sheet first day cover. 

Featuring four beautifully illustrated stamps, the cover captures landmark moments: the Opening of the S&DR in 1825, Locomotion Number 1 at Darlington in circa 1890, Centenary celebrations in 1925 and Replica Locomotion 1 in 1975. Each stamp is tied with a matching Stockton-on-Tees postmark dated 25.09.25, directly linking the design to the railway’s historic home.

Autographed by Christian Wolmar, renowned Railway Author who wrote the 2025 book 'The Liberation Line'. The book is a story of the railwayman who rebuilt the railways in Europe after D-Day.
