James McDivitt signed USA 1965 Gemini Manned Flight US Navy Recovery Force cover with 8th June 1965 USS Rupertus postmark.
McDivitt commanded Gemini 4 which is cited as the turning point of the space race as NASA caught up with Russian capabilities. He later commanded Apollo 9 during which the crew performed the first manned flight of a Lunar Module, proving the craft capable of manned spaceflight.
