Fred Bock Autograph | Atomic Bomb Crew

Fred Bock signed Canadian 1989 World War Two 50^th anniversary cover. He has inscribed ‘393^rd Bomb Squadron, 509^th Composite Group, USAAF 1945.’ On the Nagasaki Mission, Bock flew the B-29 bomber The Great Artiste, which was used for scientific measurements and photography of the effects caused by the nuclear weapon. The aircraft Bockscar – which dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki – was named after him.
