Bill Pertwee was a British actor, born on July 21, 1926, and passed away on May 27, 2013. He was best known for his role as ARP Warden Hodges in the long-running British sitcom "Dad's Army." The series, which aired from 1968 to 1977, followed the antics of a group of volunteers in the Home Guard during World War II.
