Bill Reid VC signed 1965 Battle of Britain cover

Bill Reid signed 1965 Battle of Britain 25th anniversary cover.

Reid was an acting flight lieutenant in 61 Squadron on the raid on Düsseldorf. Whilst enroute to the target area, Reid's Lancaster came under two attacks, damaging the windscreen, cockpit, tailplane and rear gun turret. In spite of multiple injuries, including the death of his navigator and wireless operator, Reid continued and successfully released his payload and retuned his aircraft home.
