DID YOU KNOW
The Observatory Science Centre (OSC) is situated among the copper domes that were once home to the world’s busiest and most famous astronomical observatory, The Royal Greenwich Observatory at Herstmonceux.
The original observatory was founded in Greenwich by Royal Commission to make accurate star maps to determine longitude and thus aid navigation at sea. It was Britain’s first state-funded scientific institution.
