The Stone of Scone or the Coronation stone, is an ancient artefact firmly entrenched in the history and politics of the British Isles. Various legends exist about the stone's history. One story suggests Fergus, son of Erc, the first King of the Scots in Scotland, transported the Stone from Ireland to Argyll, where he was crowned upon it.
On 6th May 2023, the newly crown King Charles III was crowned, sat on the Coronation throne where the famous stone lay.
