John Hunt signed 1978 Everest 25th anniversary cover.

A British army officer in WWII, after which he was chosen to lead the Everest expedition on account of his leadership skills and climbing ability. In later life he became the first Director for the Duke of Edinburgh awards, and in 1966 was awarded life peerage for his work with young people.
