Rupert Bear begin life as Mary Tourtel’s ‘Little Lost Bear,’ his journey to stardom via the Daily Express came when Mary’s husband, who worked for the newspaper suggested her creation. Rupert is Britain’s longest continually running comic strip and continues to be hugely popular to this day.
