Reg Varney (1916–2008) was an English actor, best known for his role as Stan Butler in the British television sitcom "On the Buses," which aired from 1969 to 1973. Varney's portrayal of the cheeky but lovable bus driver endeared him to audiences, and the show became a significant success during its run.
