Queen's Corgis First Day Cover
The Queen’s fondness for corgis has been well documented throughout her reign, and these beloved pets have been a prominent part of her life for many years. The Queen’s association with corgis began in her childhood when her father, King George VI, brought home, the family’s first corgi. Since then, corgis have been a constant presence in the royal household. Queen Elizabeth II was actively involved in breeding corgis for much of her life. She founded her own line of Pembroke Welsh Corgis, known as the “Royal Corgis,” and carefully managed their breeding to maintain the lineage. This Dogs first day cover features ten stamps, each a different dog breed and Sandringham postmark in a nod to Queen Elizabeth II and her love of dogs.
