John Treasure Jones signed 1967 RMS Queen Mary Last Call at Las Palmas

Treasure Jones joined Cunard in 1937 before seeing military action during WWII patrolling the North Sea and Denmark Strait. He was on the AMC Laurentic when she was sunk in November 1940 and was adrift for over six hours before being rescued. He later served escorting the Atlantic conveys and in 1943 was promoted to Commander. In 1945 he was promoted again to Acting-Captain and sent to South East Asia Command under Admiral Mountbatten. Treasure Jones rejoined Cunard in 1947 and served on several ships including as commander of RMS Mauretania, Queen Elizabeth, and the Queen Mary. He retired in 1968, after a career of 47 years including an incredible 43½ continuous years at sea.
