Commodore Warwick was appointed Master Designate of the new ship in 2002. He had the honour of giving the first order to commence the assembly of the Queen Mary 2, the largest passenger liner in the world. He was promoted to Commodore of the Cunard Line on 26th December 2003, the day the Queen Mary 2 made her maiden arrival in Southampton.
