Issue Date: 31/12/2008
Issue Name: Queen Elizabeth II cover Carried Five Times
Producer: Buckingham Covers
When the brand spanking new QM2 arrived on the scene in 2004, she took over the role as the Flag Ship of the Cunard's Line. This was the end of an era. QE2 had been first Lady of the Seas up until then.
Our 2004 QE2 covers were remarkable at the time for having been onboard the last major voyage of the QE2 (25/04/04) AND were stowed away onboard whilst QE2 and QM2 arrived together in Southampton during their historic tandem crossing, 1st May 2004.
But this cover… well it’s done all that AND was carried THREE TIMES in 2008 on The Final Voyages!!! - Farewell British Isles, Southampton-New York AND back again! That means this cover has been carried FIVE times in total!
This is a well travelled cover, a world wisely collectable, an historic record of the QE2’s final years.
