Issue Name: Queen Victoria Maiden Voyage Carried Cover signed by Captain P Wright
Producer: Buckingham Covers
Queen Victoria (QV) is a new cruise ship on the Cunard Line. She began her maiden cruise to northern Europe on December 11th, 2007. A limited edition of just 1000 covers were carried onboard from 11th December 2007 and were on sale throughout the voyage. We had intended that a small number would be personally signed by the first ever Captain of the Queen Victoria, Paul Wright. Captain Wright very kindly signed not just the initial batch but ALL of the covers we'd given him, so there is no unsigned version of this cover!
Queen Victoria offers all the classic characteristics that have become associated with Cunard's heritage. From the outside, her distinctive black and red livery will hint at the experience that differentiates a Cunard liner from any other cruise ship. This will be most evident in the ship's homage to liner traditions of the past with elegant public rooms, many on a grand scale, all graciously styled and luxuriously finished.
The first Mast of Queen Victoria, Captain Paul Wright, was appointed in October 2006 and just one year later Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall, performed the naming of Queen Victoria at a prestigious ceremony with over 2,000 VIP guests from around the globe on the 10th December 2007.
The Maiden Voyage on the 11th December 2007 will be followed by the Maiden World Cruise on the 6th January 2008 during which, on the 13th January 2008, Queen Victoria will meet up with Queen Mary 2 and the QE2 in New York, making history as the first ever meeting of three Cunard Queens.
