Sir Winston Churchill

In 1936, Winston Churchill said of our parliamentary democracy:

"We must recognise that we have a great inheritance in our possession, which represents the prolonged achievement of the centuries; that there is not one of our simple uncounted rights today for which better men than we are have not died on the scaffold or the battlefield. We have not only a great treasure; we have a great cause. Are we taking every measure within our power to defend that cause?

As British Prime Minister throughout the years of the Second World War, Churchill certainly defended those ideals with all the determination, leadership and oratory at his command. His confidence and his speeches gave the country heart, even at the bleakest moments.

The Churchill Centre's mission is to foster the leadership, statesmanship, vision, courage and boldness which he inspired and to raise awareness of the relevance of Winston Churchill's legacy and heritage, through TCC's website, publications, support of international education programmes and academic scholarship. Over 4000 members around the world, aged from ten to over ninety, work together to impress the record Churchill's life and deeds on the 21st century. At its heart, in the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms in London, is the preserved scene of his 'Finest Hour'.
