Issue Name: Centenary of Nobel Prizes
Producer: Buckingham Covers
Since 1901, the Nobel Prizes have been presented to the Laureates at ceremonies on December 10, the anniversary of Alfred Nobel's death. We took the Peace Prize for our cover and were both thrilled and honoured to get Desmond Tutu and Mairead Corrigan Maguire to sign.
As stipulated in the will of the Swedish born inventor and international industrialist, there are two ceremonies. The prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine and Literature are awarded in Stockholm, Sweden. A new prize, first awarded in 1969, the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel, was established on the occasion of the Riksbank's 300th anniversary the year before. Since 1926, the prize awarding ceremony has almost without exception taken place at the Concert Hall in Stockholm.
