For Christmas 2006, we worked with Bath Postal Museum and sponsored a Mail Coach through Bath to celebrate the opening of the Museum’s new home. It was a traditional Victorian mail coach, carrying various elegant passengers in Victorian garb (including Terry Pratchett, the Marquis of Bath, Richard Briers and most importantly, our covers!).

Our official Bath Postal Museum cover would make a stunning festive addition to your collection! It comes with the full set of 2006 Christmas stamps, and has our official Bath Mail coach Run postmark, and was carried on the mail coach. A limited number were signed on the day by patron of Bath Postal Museum, the writer and creator of Discworld, Sir Terence David John Pratchett OBE (we strongly recommend his stamp novel, Going Postal.)

The Opening of the new Bath Postal Museum

In October 2006 the Bath Postal Museum is moving, thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, to a new home beneath the City of Bath Post Office. It is an exciting and educational day out for all the family.

Once past the entrance, which is through a rescued 1930's post office in Green Street, you will be transported to a new world where, just by touching a portrait, you will be able to find out all about the two Bathonians, Ralph Allen and John Palmer, who revolutionised postal communications in the 18th century. Children will be able to try on 18th century clothes and really seem to be back in time.
