Andy Murray - Wimbledon Men's Singles Champion 2013
Glasgow born Andy Murray is the No.1 tennis player for Great Britain and is ranked No.2 in the world. Murray made history winning the Men's singles title at Wimbledon on 7th July 2013, 77 years after Fred Pery, the last British male winner. The last British women's singles winner was Virginia Wade in 1977.
Murray won in three straight sets against the world No.1 Novak Djokovic. In an excruciating last set Murray had three championship poins saved by Djokovic before winning the game, set and match.
