On 7th July 2013, Andy Murray became the first British Men's Wimbledon Champion for 77 years. With the hopes of the nation resting on his shoulders, the Scotsman beat then-World No.1 Novak Djokovic in a nail biting contest lasting three hours and ten minutes.

Andy Murray - Wimbledon Men's Singles Champion 2013

Glasgow born Andy Murray is the No.1 tennis player for Great Britain and is ranked No.2 in the world. Murray made history winning the Men's singles title at Wimbledon on 7th July 2013, 77 years after Fred Pery, the last British male winner. The last British women's singles winner was Virginia Wade in 1977.

Murray won in three straight sets against the world No.1 Novak Djokovic. In an excruciating last set Murray had three championship poins saved by Djokovic before winning the game, set and match.

Sir Andy Murray OBE  is a British professional tennis player from Scotland. He was the winner of the men's singles at Wimbledon in 2012, and the 2016 Olympic gold medallist winner.
