91007 'Skyfall'

On 16th February 2013 East Coast launched the 'Skyfall' train to celebrate the latest James Bond film, the biggest film in British cinema. Class 91 locomotive 91107 was renumbered as 91007 and was unveiled on platform 007 at King's Cross Station with special 007 insignia incorporated into the trains livery.

The 'Skyfall' train operates on the four hour flagship Flying Scotsman service between Edinburgh and London. It will also be used on various services across the East Coast route. The train went into regular service on Monday 18th February.

Its maiden journey to Scotland, the ancestral home of James Bond, showcased the scenic route perfectly; the train set off from King's Cross and made an extended crossing of the Royal Border Bridge at Berwick, before completing its journey to Edinburgh Waverley. Among those on board were Bond producer Michael G. Wilson, Skyfall actress Naomie Harris, and writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

The James Bond film Skyfall featured trains extensively and became the UK's highest grossing film of all time. This unique partnership between Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and East Coast trains has seen all eleven carriages of the train completely wrapped in artwork from Skyfall. It is the first film to lend its name to a train in the UK.
