To commemorate the centenary of Queen Victoria's death in 2001, Buckingham Covers created this stunning piece of postal history, featuring Royal Mail's first ever self adhesive commemorative label, as well as the Queen Victoria centenary stamp booklet. It is postmarked in both Windsor and Osborne House and features Royal Mail's first ever self adhesive commemorative label, and is available signed by Dame Judi Dench.
Also known as "the grandmother of Europe", Queen Victoria was the longest reigning female monarch in history. This cover has been double postmarked, once in Windsor and a second time in Osborne on the Isle of Wight, both favourite locations of "Mrs. Brown", as she was affectionately known. In addition to being one of the most influential monarch in modern European history, one might say she was also part of creating what you are now looking at; it was after all her face that appeared on the very first postal stamps!
