England beat New Zealand in a thrilling World Cup Final. It is England’s first ever Cricket World Cup and follows final defeats in 1979, 1987 and 1992. England are world champions after tying with New Zealand on 241 each after their respective 50 overs. They both scored 15 in the super-over – but England won thanks to hitting more boundaries in their 51 overs.
Royal Mail are marking the World Cup success of the England Cricket team by issuing a miniature sheet of four stamps. The sheet will feature images from the team’s campaign. Our cover features a 1st class firework stamp and a London postmark (14th July, 2019) the day England won the Cricket World Cup for the first time! It has been doubled with the four stamps from the Men's World Cup miniature sheet along with a first day of issue postmark (August 2019)
