The Hundred Days Offensive was the final period of the First World War, during which the Allies launched a series of offensives against the Central Powers on the Western Front from 8th August to 11th November 1918, beginning with the Battle of Amiens.
This lovely set of six covers each feature the following battles: Battle of Amiens (8th - 11th August), Second Battle of the Somme (21st August - 2nd September), Battle of Epehy (18th September), 1918 Battle of Ypres (28th September - 2nd October), 1918 Battle of St Quentin Canal (29th September - 10th October) and the 1918 Battle of Cambrai (8th - 10th October).
The 100 Days Offensive
The offensive essentially pushed the Germans out of France, forcing them to retreat beyond the Hindenburg Line, and was followed by an Armistace. The term "Hundred Days Offensive" does not refer to a specific battle or unified strategy, but rather the rapid series of Allied victories starting with the Battle of Amiens.
