Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins signed Apollo 11 cover with a 20th July 1969 Cape Canaveral postmark - the day the lunar module landed on the moon.

Neil Armstrong (Gemini 8, Apollo 11) is most famous for being the first man to walk on the Moon, with the moment broadcast live around the world to 450 million people. Armstrong and Aldrin spent two and a half hours exploring the lunar surface, detailing the effects on the human body, setting up a scientific experiments, and planting the United States flag.

Buzz Aldrin (Gemini 12, Apollo 11) was the second man to walk on the moon and his first words upon stepping onto the surface were ‘Beautiful view. Magnificent desolation’. When returning to the Lunar Module he damaged the circuit breaker which regulated the main engine for takeoff and amazingly used a felt-tip pen to push the switch in and activate lift off.

Michael Collins (Gemini 10, Apollo 11) served as the Command Module Pilot for Apollo 11, remaining in Lunar Orbit whilst his fellow crew members travelled to the surface in the Lunar Module. Collins was cut off from contact with Earth and his crew for 48 minutes of each orbit, and famously said that ‘not since Adam has any human known such solitude’.
