Pink Floyd are probably one of the most iconic rock bands to have come out of the UK. The band was formed in 1965 by four London students, Roger ‘Syd’ Barrett (vocals and guitar), Roger Waters (bass guitar), Richard Wright (keyboards) and Nick Mason (drums). Performing in the growing underground music scene in London they gained popularity with their psychedelic and progressive music, constantly pushing boundaries with experimental sounds and extended compositions.
Gilmour and Mason continue to drive Pink Floyd on and released their latest studio album The Endless River in 2014. Having sold more than 250 million records worldwide, won numerous awards including inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005, it is no surprise that they are one of the most commercially successful and influential rock bands in history.
