The Ashes Series
The Ashes is a Test cricket series played between Australia and England, and is the most celebrated rivalry in international cricket dating back to 1882. Named after a satirical obituary published in a British newspaper after the defeat of England by Australia, the article stated that "English cricket had died, and the body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia." The subsequent English tour of Australia was dubbed as 'the quest to regain The Ashes', and upon their victory, the England captain IVo Bligh was presented a small terracotta urn by a group of Melbourne women, thus leading to a sporting tradition which has lasted well over a century.
Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff MBE is an English former international cricketer and current broadcaster. Playing primarily for Lancashire, Flintoff played all forms of the game and was one of the sport's leading all rounders, serving as a fast bowler, middle order batsman and talented slip fielder.
Shane Keith Warne is an Australian former international cricketer, and a former ODI captain of the Australian national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest bowlers in the history of the game, Warne was named one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in the 1994 Wisden Cricketers' Almanack
