Pat Reid signed Colditz covers
Pat Reid (1910-1990) was a WWII British Army officer and one of the few POWs to escape captivity from Colditz Castle. He was captured during the Battle of France whilst serving with the British Expeditionary Force and arrived at Colditz on 10th November 1940. After coordinating many escape attempts Reid finally broke free in October 1942 making his way across the border into Switzerland where he remained until after the end of the war gathering information for MI6 from arriving escapees.
