If you love railway history, a trip to the National Railway Museum in York is a must.
Entry is free (apart from special events) and their collection tells the railway story from Rocket to Eurostar.
The NRM is also home to many railway icons, including the Mallard - the world's fastest steam locomotive - and the legendary Flying Scotsman. The collection includes 103 locomotives and 177 other items of rolling stock. The NRM Library is one of the major UK reference sources for railway history.
Our official National Railway Museum covers and stamp sheet are a must as well. These were produced in conjunction with the NRM and raised money for the Museum.
We worked with the NRM again after they managed to save the Flying Scotsman thanks to the tremendous support from the British public. We produced a cover to celebrate.
If you would like to support the NRM, annual membership is very affordable and brings you discounts at the Museum shop, restaurant & car park, quarterly newsletters, member only invitations and the chance to volunteer at the Museum. To join, contact the Friends Office on +44 (0)1904 636874
