La Corbiere Lighthouse is situated on the most south-western point of Jersey. The name means "a place where crows gather", although locals say there are more seagulls than crows there nowadays! The rocks and tidal variation along this stretch of Jersey's coast have long been treacherous for navigation, with La Corbière the location of many shipwrecks.
