George Hamilton-Gordon, 4th Earl of Aberdeen signed handwritten letter dated 21st July 1846 inviting the recipient to visit.
Hamilton-Gordon was the Conservative Prime Minister of a coalition government from 1852 to 1855. His premiership was dominated with foreign policy dilemmas stemming from the clash of his government on matters such as relations with France and The Crimean War. The war would result in his resignation after parliament voted for an inquiry into the governments conduct during the conflict.
