Falklands Tribute Cover, BFPO Postmark, Signed John Pettinger

2007 Falklands Conflict 25th anniversary souvenir cover with a 1st Class Union Jack stamp and our special anniversary British Forces 2994 Postal Service postmark. Signed by John Pettinger, an officer and Patrol Commander of D Patrol Company, 3^rd Parachute Battalion during the Falklands War. Limited edition of 25 covers.

Pettinger served during the operations in and around the Mount Longdon area on East Falkland. Pettinger's D Company were the ‘eyes and ears’ of 3 Para, carrying out six reconnaissance patrols of enemy defensive machine gun and mortar positions, even entering enemy trenches undetected. For his bravery, Pettinger was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM), one of only eight awarded during the conflict.
