Dam Busters 60th, signed George Johnny Johnson & Les Munro

60th Anniversary of the Dam Busters Raid. Featuring artwork by renowned wartime artist Frank Wootton of the Bomber Command raid on the Mohne Dam. Guernsey stamps and postmark (30th January 2003). Doubled on 17th May 2003 with a Scampton postmark.

Johnny Johnson was the last surviving veteran of the raid. He was the bomb aimer on the Lancaster Bomber AJ-T, which attacked the Sorpe Dam.

Les Munro was the pilot of bomber AJ-W which was scheduled to attack the Scorpe Dam. However, they were forced to turn back after his aircraft lost all communications after being damaged by flak over the Netherlands.
