Sir Simon Alexander Bowes-Lyon KCVO (born 17th June 1932) is a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II and was Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire from 1986 to 2007. He was created a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in The Queen's Birthday Honours List 2005.
He was born in 1932, the son of Sir David Bowes-Lyon, who also served as Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire. On 11 April 1966, he married Caroline Mary Victoria Pike (b. 27 September 1940) and they have four children; Rosemary (b. 1968), Fergus (b. 1970), David (b. 1973), and Andrew (b. 1979).
Sir Simon is also the founder of St. Paul's Walden Charities which Makes grants to organisations and provides other finance to people with disabilities, other charities or voluntary bodies.
