Sarah is an inspirational and passionate teacher running cooking, flower arranging, growing and gardening courses at Perch Hill her farm in East Sussex, and around the country since 1999. She has a home-shopping business (sarahraven.com) based on the plants trialed and grown at Perch Hill.
Sarah has presented on BBC Gardener's world, written for The Daily Telegraph, Country Living, Gardens Illustrated, Gardener's World magazine, The English Garden magazine and now Sainsbury's Magazine. Her gardening and cookery books have won her a number of awards including Best Specialist Gardening book for 'The Cutting Garden' and Cookery Book of the year for 'Sarah Raven's Garden cookbook'. Her most recently published book 'Vita's Sissinghurst – creating a garden' brings Vita's garden writing up to date. She also had a well-received TV series (BBC2) in spring 2012 called 'Bees. Butterflies and Blooms' on the crisis of insects and Sarah's attempts to flower up the nation to hugely increase insect food and habitat supply.
In January of this year Sarah also presented an episode in the 'Great Garden Revival' series.
She is married to the writer Adam Nicolson and has two daughters and three stepsons.
Sarah is currently working on a cookery book combining her medical training with her love of growing and cooking food, exploring healthy eating, working title 'Healthy Delicious'.
