Phillip Schofield was born in Newquay, Cornwall and still does a lot of work in the local area. He joined the BBC in 1979 at the age of 17 and became a children's TV presenting icon, first fronting Children's BBC from the "broom cupboard" and later working with Emma Forbes on Saturday morning show Going Live. Now a TV veteran, his presenting experience includes the National Lottery - Winning Lines and midweek draw - and fronting This Morning on Fridays alongside Fern Britton. He has previously worked with Celador, the company behind Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, on ITV shows Talking Telephone Numbers and Schofield's TV Gold. Schofield has also had a successful theatre career, starring as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (London Palladium, UK Tour). He also took the lead role in Doctor Dolittle (London).
