David Platt's talent got spotted while in the first team of Crewe Alexandria and he was signed for Aston Villa in 1988 for £200,000.
Whilst at Villa, Platt broke into the England Squad, and his performances at Italia 90, ensured that clubs from across Europe were chasing his signature. He moved to Bari for £5.5 million. From Bari, Platt moved to Turin, Juventus and then Sampdoria.
Platt returned to England in 1995, and signed for Arsenal, and was part of the double winning squad of 1997/1998.
