Tania Mallet

Tania Mallet was born in the seaside resort of Blackpool, and following a course at Lucy Clayton's School Of Modelling, started work at 16 as a model - and never looked back.

In 1963 she was considered for a role in From Russia With Love though it wasn't until the following year that she was cast in a Bond film, with Goldfingfer; playing the ill-fated Tilly Masterson.

She said her agreeing to appear in Goldfinger was really an experiment on her part. She was earning £2,000 a week as a model, and after much bargaining managed to secure £150 a week as her fee for the film! She claimed that she could not afford to continue in acting whilst she was earning so much as a model.

The production itself was mixed experience - filming was happy, but in her personal life her long-time boyfriend died during shooting. Tania took a couple of other small roles in smaller films (including Michael Winner's Girls, Girls, Girls) but had no desire to pursue a career as an actress.

She returned to modelling and says that "if you're only going to make one movie in life, then why not Goldfinger?"
