Lady Pamela Hicks (nee Mountbatten)

 

The Lady Pamela Carmen Louise Hicks, née Mountbatten (born 19th April 1929). She is the younger daughter of the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma by his wife, the former Edwina Ashley. She is the sister of the 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma. Through her father Lady Pamela is a first cousin of the Duke of Edinburgh. She accompanied her parents to India and remained with them there throughout her father's term as Viceroy of pre-Independence India and then Governor-General of post-Partition India in 1947-48.

She was married to David Nightingal Hicks on 13 January 1960 at Romsey Abbey in Hampshire. He died in 1998.

Lady Pamela has three children: Edwina Victoria Louise Hicks (born 24 December 1961), Ashley Louis David Hicks (born 18 July 1963), and India Amanda Caroline Hicks (born 5 September 1967).

She was lady in waiting to Queen Elizabeth II on her Commonwealth Tour 1953-54 and was her bridesmaid.
