Admiral Sir Peter Geoffrey Marshall Herbert, KCB 1983, OBE 1969, was born on the 28th February 1929. He is the son of A.G.S. Herbert and P.K.M. Herbert. He married in 1953 to Ann Maureen and has one son and one daughter. He was educated at Dunchurch Hall, Royal Navy College, Dartmouth.
