John Aitchison is a double Bafta and Emmy winner for his work both as a nature documentary producer and cameraman.
John's love of wildlife began when he saved up pennies in a jar to buy his first binoculars as a child.
His love affair with Scotland began with family holidays on the west and north coasts. After a five year stint in the Film Unit of the RSPB he and his wife made a film for the BBC on the Ythan estuary near Aberdeen and soon after put down roots on the west coast of Scotland.
John films wildlife around the world, but one of his favourite subjects are the otters that play on the sea shore outside his front door.
John has worked on series including Planet Earth II, The Hunt, Frozen Planet, Life Stories, Life, Big Cat Diary, Springwatch, Yellowstone and he is also the author of The Shark and the Albatross.
