Captain Cooks Voyage Stamps Unsigned

Captain Cook

250 Years of the first voyage of Captain Cook, showcasing an amazing painting by Captain Georges Tobin, the artist on-board Captain Cook's voyage as crew. The painting is called 'Point Venus, The Island of Otahytey', and one of the voyage's missionary objectives was to record the Transit of Venus from the island of Tahiti. The cover features the full-set of six stamps and our special 250th anniversary, Whitby postmark 16.08.2018.

Cook's ship 'The Endeavour' was built in Whitby and the Captain Cook Museum is also located there. James Cook himself lodged as an apprentice in the same house where the museum is today.
