Bluebell Railway Extension to East Grinstead, carried

The Bluebell Railway is a heritage railway located in East Sussex, England. It was one of the first preserved standard gauge passenger railways in the world, established in 1960 to preserve and operate part of the former London, Brighton and South Coast Railway.

This Railway collectable, carried on the line marks the extension of the Bluebell Railway to East Grinstead, a significant project aimed at reconnecting the Bluebell Railway to the national rail network. The extension involved the re-opening of a section of railway line that had been closed in 1958 as part of the Beeching cuts, a series of mass closures of unprofitable railway lines.

Limited Edition collectable has a 1st Class stamp and train label alongside an East Grinstead postmark 23.03.2013. Cover was carried on the first Steam Train from East Grinstead to Sheffield Park and include carried cachet with image of a train arriving at East Grinstead Station.
