Art of David Gentleman - Stamps From Miniature Sheet, signed Brian Webb

This stamp issue is a tribute to the works of the iconic designer, David Gentleman. Our first day cover is designed to link with the London 2022 International Stamp Show and showcases the six stamps torn from the miniature sheet which feature David Gentleman's stamp artworks, re-issued. Postmarked Islington, London on the day of issue 18.02.2022, a day before the stamp exhibition in Islington.

David Gentleman changed British stamp design for ever when he recommended much more interesting subject matter than had been featured previously for stamp issues. David Gentleman’s designs have featured on more stamps than any other designer (103 issued stamps) and have become iconic in their own right, and more than 50 years later the impact on the Royal Mail’s stamps programme can still be seen.
