Amelia Earhart signed 1928 Stultz Day Airmail

Amelia Earhart & George L. Hepford signed 1928 Stultz Day commemorative airmail card flown on the special event flight by Louis Gordon in Middletown, Pennsylvania on 28th July 1928. The reverse features a printed map of United States air mail routes.

In June 1928, Earhart had accompanied fellow pilot Wilmer Stultz and mechanic Louis Gordon aboard the Friendship on their flight from Newfoundland to the British Isles, making history as the first woman to fly across the Atlantic. Following that record setting flight Earhart joined the residents of Middletown in honouring their hometown hero Stultz.

Amelia Earhart was a pioneering aviator whose embracement of celebrity culture and women's rights, saw her became a global figure and one of the most inspirational American figures of the period. She achieved many aviation records such as becoming the first female pilot to fly solo non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean. Earhart disappeared during a flight on 2nd July 1937 over the Pacific Ocean while attempting to become the first female pilot to circumnavigate the world.
