Kuhl’s pipistrelle (Pipistrellus kuhlii) is a medium-sized species which is an occasional visitor rather than a resident species. Over the last 30 years there have been around 20 records in the UK.
However, three intriguing new records have been reported in 2020 (a pregnant female and two juvenile bats) suggesting that this species may now the breeding in the UK. If that is confirmed in the coming years this species could be added as a new resident bat species!
