The greater mouse-eared bat (Myotis myotis), the largest bat that occurs in Britain. The past 35 years have seen very few records of this species, it was declared extinct in the UK in 1990 but one returned. However, the last remaining recorded bat of this species has been missing for the last year and sadly pressumed extinct.
