Prince Henry was born on 6th December 1421 at Windsor Castle.  As the only child of King Henry V and Catherine of Valois (the daughter of the French King), when King Henry V died suddenly, the infant Henry succeeded to the throne at 9 months of age on 1st September 1422, becoming King of France after his Grandfather's death and also inheriting The Hundred Years War (1337 - 1453).
