1952 1½d & 2½d Wildings, Gosport CDS, Sarzin cover

5^th December 1952 1½d & 2½d Wildings with a Gosport CDS. Sarzin illustrated cover with a 1 1/2d value incorporated into the design and printed address to Sarzin in New York.

These were the first Queen Elizabeth II stamps. The Wilding series of definitive stamps were based on a photo taken by Dorothy Wilding, featuring the Queen in a three-quarter pose wearing a diamond diadem. They were produced from 1952 until being replaced by the Machin in 1967.
